National French Fries Day

Fries? Chips? Frites? Whatever you like to call them the one thing everyone can agree on is that they are absolutely delicious. The crispy golden potatoes are the perfect companion to a wide variety of dishes. You can serve them with anything from a fancy steak dinner to a humble hamburger. They can be cut dozens of different ways: waffle, shoestring, crinkle, steak, wedges, and curly. They were practically made to be smothered in melted cheese, a savory sauce, or rich gravy. And, don’t even get me started on how perfect they are for dipping. So, it’s pretty easy to see why America dedicated a day to celebrate one of its favorite fried foods.
