Cocktail Hour

At-home mixology is proving its popularity on Epicurious’ Community Table with several contributors offering up their favorite cocktail recipes. Viviane Bauquet Farre of food & style shares her recipe for Honeydew and Mezcal Margarita with Chipotle Syrup, a drink that blends sweet honeydew, smoky Mezcal, spicy chipotle, and floral elderflower liqueur. A Healthy Life for Me’s Amy Stafford aims to give cocktail hour a boost of nutrition by adding fresh blueberries. Stafford’s Blueberry Martini is lightly sweetened with honey but you can add a little simple syrup if you prefer a sweeter drink. Regular cocktail contributor Michael Ruhlman’s latest recipe is The Ludwig, a tequila-based drink made with cantaloupe, lime juice, and Barenjager, “a honey liqueur made by Jagermeister.” If you can’t find Barenjager, Ruhlman suggests substituting equal parts honey and water.
